Hi Tom 934 Mhz UHF CB in Ireland wouldn't be much good to us we would need Repeaters to get any distance at all and also the PMR 446 is also UHF plus the TX ouput power is 100 m watts which is very small power so the  distance wouldn't be great I think we are better off at what we have at the moment and you can't beat the Frequency we are using at the moment for long distance QSO's 27.515 USB.

it is called pmr in ireland and is 446.0 to 446.1 uhf there are 8 ch most users are on handheld sets short range

Can someone tell me about UHF CB in Ireland?

Are there separate CB frequencies between the North and South?

Do you have 934 or other frequencies?

have moonraker but it has uk/eu button....is 80 channel

what are most active channels here in ireland and I presume its the uk button I set to hear those

not great, quite poor in fact, if you lived high up in an apartment complex it might work well, bout 6 - 8 miles on am and ssb bout 20 miles for me, all depending on who you are talkin to and where they are..

i've saw these tom, what kind of range do you get with it?

its ok lads i got it.. drove an earth rod into the ground and earthed antenna. 1.2 to 1.3 SWR that should do...

Hello to all, need a bit of help tuning this antenna, its all i can use, i use to live in the country and had an A99 20 ft in the air, worked great.. living in town now, (her choice) so can't put up A99, don't want to piss the neighbours off... so i have to use something small and descret... can't get the SWR down on this antenna... any ideas..

And as requested the radio has come alive all weekend what a great 3 weeks thanks mr skip well done keep up the good work
